Criteria for Selection for 2nd and 3rd Grade

3rd grade: Top 15% for BOTH STAR Reading and STAR Math and a score in the 70th percentile or better Teacher Recommendation Criteria for Selection for Grades 4-8 Top 15% for STAR Reading and Math and a score in the 70th percentile or better. Top 15% for IAR who met or exceeded for ELA and Math (test taken in the previous school year) 3. Teacher Recommendation Students slated for the program in grades 4-8 either Met the criteria above on 3 or more assessments (STAR Reading, STAR Math, IAR Reading, and/or IAR Math) New students to the district only: Met the criteria for BOTH STAR Reading and STAR Math Students in GATE during the previous year who did not meet the required criteria above ONLY at the GATE teacher’s discretion
