About Mrs. Tomaszewski:   Welcome to Room 51!  I am Mrs. Tomaszewski, but the children call me Mrs. T. because of the length of my name.  I have been teaching at Nathan Hale for 29 years.  My children went to both Nathan Hale and Heritage and I live in Lynwood.  I am proud of the community feeling in our neighborhood that carries over to our school community.

About This Class:  We are a community of learners and it begins each morning as we shake hands to start our day together.  There are 23 students in the class.  We will be working together to have a successful year both as friends and as students.  Thank you for your support and help at home.

Class Resources:  Please check your child's Red Folder each day.  At the beginning of the year, several announcements and important informational letters are sent home to help start the year.  This helps all of us be prepared for each day's lesson.

Class Procedures:  The children have started to use a Homework Tracker to show you when assignments and tests are scheduled.  Also, as part of the weekly assignments, the children are asked to read at home and then write this on the Reading Log section of the Homework Tracker.  Please feel free to read along with your child during this at-home reading.  I hope you will enjoy this as a family.  This Homework Tracker should be signed and returned to school. The children will be given a new one each week.  It is a great way to see their assignments and lessons that they are learning.

Thank You:  Thank you to the parents that attended the children's Parent Teacher conference.  I enjoyed meeting you and having the chance to discuss each child's progress.  Remember to sign and return the envelope so it can be used for the second quarter.  Please feel free to email or call me at school:     708-895-3030  ext 2127.

Parental Help:  Please keep fidget sinners and footballs at home.  These toys are not allowed at Nathan Hale for safety reasons.  Thanks for helping us keep the students safe.

Outside Recess:  The students do have outside recess during the cooler weather.  Please send jackets to be worn over their uniforms.  Hoodies are NOT allowed in the classroom.  If you child feels chilled during the day, he or she should wear a sweater in uniform code colors in the classroom.  Jeans are allowed on special event days, such as Friday, November 10.  Please send in a food item for the November food drive to help the Food Banks in both Lansing and Lynwood and your son or daughter may wear jeans.  Thanks for supporting such a good cause for the people in our communities.
