About Me
I am excited to be joining Heritage this year.  I graduated from Vanderbilt University with degrees in elementary education and sociology as well as a Masters in reading from Christian Brothers University.  I have taught for seven years from kindergarten through eighth grade.  In my spare time, I love to read, especially memoirs and historical fiction.  Also, I am an avid outdoors fan- camping, hiking, skiing, etc.

About My Class
Mondays and Wednesdays I work with some 5th and 6th grade students during RTI.  Tuesday and Thursdays I work with other 6th grade students.  Fridays, I work with 7th grade students.  Additionally, some students work with me an additional time during the week in a smaller group to kept them improve their reading skills.  Students will be working hard to fill in gaps in their reading knowledge.  If your child is seeing me outside of RTI, you will receive a letter notifying you of why and what class your child will miss to receive the needed reading intervention.  I will also be working collaboratively with reading and writing teachers to provide additional support in the classroom.  Typically, Mondays and Tuesdays I will be pushing into classrooms.

Parents, please feel free to contact me if you have questions about how to better support your child's reading or writing progress at home.  I am happy to recommend resources.
