Math: Topics that will be covered over the course of the year are: Sampling and classification, Strategies to help in the 4 basic operations, Place value, area and perimeter, fractions, shapes, and volume. Students will also be working with the online program Xtra math to help with their basic math facts, as well as being challenged weekly with 1 minute math testing.

Reading: Topics that will be covered will be the reading of 4 novels (How to Eat fried worms, The best Christmas Pageant Ever, Mr. Popper's Penguins, and Night of the Twisters. Along with these novels, students will be tested weekly on fluency and work online with the digital READWORKS program working on comprehension.

Language Arts: Topics to be covered will be Punctuation, Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives, and Adjectives. Students will also be doing a weekly Daily language Assessment, as well as weekly spelling units. The students will also be working online with Spelling City to help them with their spelling units.
